Jessica Biel on Justin Timberlake: Marriage Won't Change Anything

Jessica Biel is looking forward to her newest role: wife.

"To me, nothing will really change, because I'm almost never home," the Total Recall actress told Gala. "But when I am home, I enjoy cooking."

Overall, once they tie the knot (possibly in a big summer wedding), "I don't think our marriage will change anything," the 30-year-old says.

While that may turn out not to be true, she admits "it will be a challenge finding a balance between private life, family and work ... I'm ready."

Timberlake, Biel

Biel also describes herself as "someone who lets things happen naturally," saying she is not sure if she wants to have a child right away.

"For me, getting married doesn't mean limiting ourselves to some predefined idea. Rather, it's an opportunity to explore new things in life."

And while fans may ogle Timberlake's good looks and hot moves, for Biel, there are three distinct qualities she finds admirable in Justin.

"The ability to communicate well ... to be able to express his feelings," she says of her future husband. "Then, loyalty. And, finally, honesty."

These two are totally the next Will and Jada Smith.

Becoming: Home improvement

Our back door has a western exposure, as does one of our kitchen windows.? The big shade tree out back that helped keep the back of the house cool had to be taken down a few years ago.? Its replacement is years away from being ready to shade the back of the house, so the afternoon sun really warms up the place - and in hot weather, not in a good way.

I have toyed with the idea of a retractable awning across the back of the house, but it's costly, and I've seen lots of negative consumer reviews about durability and customer service problems.? Outside the western kitchen window, I installed a Coolaroo shade, which I lower on sunny afternoons when the temperature is high.? It works really well blocking the heat.

The window in our back door also needs shading, but I don't want to attach a curtain or shade to the door because I like having the view. And because the door swings out instead of in (we changed it to an outswing to give us more room on the small landing), we can't install a storm door to improve energy efficiency in winter or summer.

Step 1: install offset curtain rod.

(Step 1?!? More like steps 1 through 43, with all the pondering, price comparisons of curtain rods,

selection of style, color, and size of the rod,?

figuring out how to avoid covering up our Delft tiles,

finding the tools, deciding the height,?

hesitating over drilling the holes,
hesitating over drilling the holes,
hesitating over drilling the holes...

Step 1 was huge.)

Step 2: find a piece of material, preferably something already on hand, that will cover the window but not the Delft tiles and that will allow a test drive of having a curtain before investing $ and time in something more permanent.

(Step 2 wasn't quite as nerve racking as Step 1 but did involve going to a fabric store and trying to decide what color, style, and pattern of fabric to buy -- and not being able to commit -- then going to a thrift store to buy a sheet or something similar and finding nothing I liked, before deciding to just use an extra sheet from our linen closet, and then remembering this 1-yard piece of upholstery fabric I bought 15 years ago to make pillow covers. Which never got made.)

Step 3: Machine hem the fabric, attach the clip-on rings, thread onto the curtain rod, draw the curtain.

Joy of joys, this thing WORKS!? The heat is blocked! ?And I realized that the neutral tones and simple pattern of the fabric are more pleasing to me than the multitude of colors and patterns I had seriously considered at the fabric store.? Next step may be to line this to improve the heat block.? And then to make a floor length version to draw on winter nights using Warm Window fabric as a liner.??

And then...doing the same treatment for winter on the front door, which has a large beveled glass panel and no storm door.

All of this because I saw this picture on blackbird's blog that she found somewhere, and it gave me a solution to provide heat & cold protection without permanently limiting the view.

Managerial mischief.?Madsen and Shafritz, in their book "Essentials of Business Ethics"?(Penguin Books, 1990) further explain that?"managerial mischief" includes "illegal, unethical, or questionable practices of individual managers or organizations, as well as the causes of such behaviors and remedies to eradicate them." Moral mazes.?The other broad area of business ethics is "moral mazes of management" and includes the numerous ethical problems that managers must deal with on a daily basis, such as potential conflicts of interest, wrongful use of resources, mismanagement of contracts and agreements, etc.? Large organizations or publicly held companies often use corporate governance to promote?business?ethics?and?social?responsibility. This governance creates the framework of policies, procedures,?and?guidelines for all individuals financial invested in a company. Sometimes, an industry group can give awards to companies to promote a cause within a field of?business. Corporate?social?responsibility awards can be given by industry leaders to draw attention to or raise standards in a certain area of?social?responsibility.

?

This model is not a process or technique - it's the character or personality of a good ethical organisation, (or manager or leader).

The society and/or situation. Short-term and long-term effects. 'The greater good' - the flip-side of the issue; i.e., what are the other options and their consequences - the costs or implications of the choices? Cultural issues. Issues of personal conscience - of those affected - beware of relying on your own ideas of 'faith' or 'belief' or 'what is right', because this will not be the view held by many people affected by your decision. You are not a god, nor an agent of a god. Religious influence and personal beliefs - of those affected, rather than the decision-makers, really, I cannot emphasise this enough. Religion is a subjective belief system. Your own religion is therefore not a basis for objective ethical decision-making. Informed enlightened educated and truly objective views. Majority views. Significant minority views. Unrepresented very small minority views. Suppliers Contractors Distributors Sales agents

Major areas of study in ethics include:

Many people are used to reading or hearing of the moral benefits of attention to business ethics. However, there are other types of benefits, as well. The following list describes various types of benefits from managing ethics in the workplace.

Real Objectivity for Ethics

P4 ethical leadership and management model

Meta-ethics, about the theoretical meaning and reference of moral propositions and how their?truth values?(if any) may be determined; Normative ethics, about the practical means of determining a moral course of action; Applied ethics, about how moral outcomes can be achieved in specific situations;

A business cannot claim to be ethical firm if it ignores unethical practices by its suppliers ? e.g.

Business ethics is more a matter of religion than management Our employees are ethical so we don't need attention to business ethics Business ethics is a discipline best led by philosophers, academics and theologians Business ethics is superfluous -- it only asserts the obvious: "do good!" Business ethics is a matter of the good guys preaching to the bad guys.? Business ethics in the new policeperson on the block Ethics can't be managed Business ethics and social responsibility are the same thing Our organization is not in trouble with the law, so we're ethical Managing ethics in the workplace has little practical relevance?

Conversely, and more importantly, very many legal activities and behaviours can be extremely unethical. For example, behaviours that are not necessarily unlawful but which are generally considered to be unethical to Western society would now typically include:

Pressure for businesses to act ethically

Ethics Training

Below is a modern model for management and leadership in the 21st century. It's an interpretation of the 'personality' of good ethical modern management and leadership. As such it's not a process or technique - it's an attempt to characterize good modern ethical management and leadership.

Business ethics is now a management discipline

Ethics involves learning what is right or wrong, and then doing the right thing -- but "the right thing" is not nearly as straightforward as conveyed in a great deal of business ethics literature.

Two Broad Areas of Business Ethics?

Purpose, People, Planet, Probity (or Purity or Principles).?The four cornerstones of sustainable success in any modern business venture,Abercrombie And Fitch, and a maxim for today's management and organisational philosophy. (Probity means honesty, uprightness - it's from the Latin word probus, meaning good). 'Purpose' is an apt replacement for 'Profit' and thus makes the acronym appropriate for use in not-for-profit organisations. Profit-focused corporations can of course substitute 'Profit' for 'Purpose'.

Business Ethics and Social Responsibility

Conclusion

An ethical business has to be concerned with the behaviour of all businesses that operate in the supply chain ? i.e.

(This P4 model is not to be confused with the traditional?Four P's of Marketing?which is a different thing. For attribution purposes this model was created by Alan Chapman and first published on this website in April 2006.)

Instead of trying to arrive at a standard or all-encompassing rule of what is ethical, it is helpful to illustrate the depth and variety of ethics through suitable examples. This is an extension of the ethical business investment items listed above, and goes into far greater detail of different behaviours which might often be regarded as unethical. The first category might seem obvious and clear-cut, and actually it's a reasonable starting point for the vast majority of ethical decisions, but this one point cannot be applied exclusively in assessing whether something is ethical or not:

Ethics, also known as?moral philosophy, is a branch of?philosophy?that involves systematizing,Ralph Lauren T Shirt, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior.

Introduction

Dishonesty, withholding information, distortion of facts Misleading or confusing communications or positioning or advertising Manipulation of people's feelings Deception, trickery, kidology, rule-bending, fooling people Exploitation of weakness and vulnerability Excessive profit Greed Anything liable to harm or endanger people Breach of the Psychological Contract - the Psychological Contract represents trust and expectations between people in a relationship - notably within employer/employee relationships, extending to other organizational relationships too - (aside from?Psychological Contract?theory, specialised theory within?Transactional Analysis?helps explain this aspect of trust and expectations in human relationships) Avoidance of blame or penalty or payment of compensation for wrong-doing Inertia-based 'approvals' and 'agreements' (in which action proceeds unless objected to) Failing to consult and notify people affected by change Secrecy and lack of transparency and resistance to reasonable investigation Coercion or inducement Harming the environment or planet Unnecessary waste or consumption Invasion of privacy or anything causing privacy to be compromised Recklessness or irresponsible use of authority, power, reputation Nepotism (the appointment or preference of family members) Favouritism or decision-making based on ulterior motives (e.g., secret affiliations, deals, memberships, etc) Alienation or marginalisation of people or groups Conflict of interests (having a foot in two or more competing camps) Neglect of duty of care Betrayal of trust Breaking confidentiality Causing suffering of animals ?Bystanding' - failing to intervene or report wrong-doing within area of responsibility (this does not give licence to interfere anywhere and everywhere, which is itself unethical for various reasons) Unfairness Unkindness Lack of compassion and humanity

Benefits of Managing Ethics in the Workplace?

P4 (PPPP)

Business ethics has come to be considered a management discipline, especially since the birth of the social responsibility movement in the 1960s. In that decade, social awareness movements raised expectations of businesses to use their massive financial and social influence to address social problems such as poverty, crime, environmental protection, equal rights, public health and improving education. An increasing number of people asserted that because businesses were making a profit from using our country's resources, these businesses owed it to our country to work to improve society. Many researchers, business schools and managers have recognized this broader constituency, and in their planning and operations have replaced the word "stockholder" with "stakeholder," meaning to include employees, customers, suppliers and the wider community.?

The ethics program is essentially useless unless all staff members are trained about what it is, how it works and their roles in it. The nature of the system may invite suspicion if not handled openly and honestly. In addition, no matter how fair and up-to-date is a set of policies, the legal system will often interpret employee behavior (rather than written policies) as de facto policy. Therefore, all staff must be aware of and act in full accordance with policies and procedures (this is true, whether policies and procedures are for ethics programs or personnel management). This full accordance requires training about policies and procedures.

Traditional inward-looking management and leadership skills (which historically considered only the purpose - typically profit - and the methods for achieving it) are no longer sufficient for sustainable organisational success. Organisations have a far wider agenda today. Moreover, performance, behaviour and standards are transparent globally - the whole world can see and judge how leaders and organisations behave - and the modern leader must now lead with this global accountability.

Consumer action can also be positive ? supporting businesses with a strong ethical stance & record.? A good example of?this is Fair trade.

You'll find lots of examples of business ethical decisions and dilemmas in areas such as:

Businesses they consider to be unethical in some ways (e.g. animal furs) Business acting irresponsibly Businesses that use business practices they find unacceptable

Business ethics in the workplace is about prioritizing moral values for the workplace and ensuring behaviors are aligned with those values -- it's values management. Yet, myths abound about business ethics. Some of these myths arise from general confusion about the notion of ethics. Other myths arise from narrow or simplistic views of ethical dilemmas.

Business Ethics is the concept has come to mean various things to various people, but generally it's coming to know what it right or wrong in the workplace and doing what's right -- this is in regard to effects of products/services and in relationships with stakeholders. Wallace and Pekel explain that attention to business ethics is critical during times of fundamental change -- times much like those faced now by businesses, both nonprofit and for-profit. In times of fundamental change, values that were previously taken for granted are now strongly questioned. Many of these values are no longer followed. Consequently, there is no clear moral compass to guide leaders through complex dilemmas about what is right or wrong. Attention to ethics in the workplace sensitizes leaders and staff to how they should act. Perhaps most important, attention to ethics in the workplaces helps ensure that when leaders and managers are struggling in times of crises and confusion, they retain a strong moral compass. However, attention to business ethics provides numerous other benefits, as well.

Unethical behaviors, activities, coach factory outlet, policies, etc

Myths about Business Ethics?

Most of the above are subject to extent or degree, whereby serious extensive examples are more likely to be unethical than minor transgressions and negligible effects.

Attention to business ethics has substantially improved society.?????? Ethics programs help maintain a moral course in turbulent times Ethics programs cultivate strong teamwork Ethics programs support employee growth and meaning.? Ethics programs are an insurance policy -- they help ensure that policies are legal.? Ethics programs help avoid criminal acts?"of omission"?and can lower fines Ethics programs help manage values associated with quality management, strategic planning and diversity management -- this benefit needs far more attention.? Ethics programs promote a strong public image.? Overall benefits of ethics programs? Formal attention to ethics in the workplace is the right thing to do.

Businesses and industries increasingly find themselves facing?external pressure?to improve their ethical track record.? An interesting feature of the rise of consumer activism online has been increased scrutiny of business activities.

Workplace ethics set the standard for right and wrong, making policies more efficient and the workplace more orderly. Managing ethics in the workplace holds tremendous benefit for leaders and managers, benefits both moral and practical. This is particularly true today when it is critical to understand and manage highly diverse values in the workplace. However, today's training about business ethics in flawed. Above the contents are very useful to avoid from flawed of ethics,? if the organization could be followed.

Pressure groups are a good example of this. Pressure groups are external stakeholders they

The aim of all good modern organisations is to reconcile the?organisational purpose?(whether this be profit for shareholders, or cost-effective services delivery, in the case of public services) with the needs and feelings of?people?(staff, customers, suppliers, local communities, stakeholders,Sunglasses Hut, etc) with proper consideration for the planet - the world we live in?(in terms of sustainability,Sunglasses For Men, environment, wildlife, natural resources, our heritage, coach outlet store, 'fair trade', other cultures and societies, etc) and at all times acting with?probity?- encompassing?love, integrity, compassion, honesty, and truth. Probity enables the other potentially conflicting aims to be harmonised so that the mix is sustainable, ethical and successful.

Use of child labour and forced labour Production in sweatshops Violation of the basic rights of workers Ignoring health, safety and environmental standards

Ethical issues and examples????

Let's take one of the above ? suppliers.

Anything unlawful in the territory or area covered by such law - is probably unethical. Not always - see?ethics and law.

Tend to focus on activities & ethical practice of multinationals or industries with ethical issues Combine direct and indirect action can damage the target business or industry

Direct consumer action?is another way in which business ethics can be challenged. Consumers may take action against:

The updated version of Sn0wbreeze 2.9.4 does not support to jailbreak The New iPad a.k.a iPad 3. However, you can still have a choice to jailbreak iPad 3 using Absinthe 2.0.1 available for both Windows and OS X users, you can download it from here.

What is New?
? Added the 5.1.1/9B206 untether that was released with today?s absinthe update.
? Added 5.0/9B206f (Apple TV 2) support.
? Minor UI changes (thanks @icj_!).

As stated many times in the past, sn0wbreeze cannot be updated to work on A5(X) devices until a low level exploit in DFU or iBoot is found and made public. Therefore, A5(X) users will have to rely on using the lovely absinthe.

A5(X) Baseband Preservation/Hacktivation?
For those running A5(X) devices and need to preserve your baseband, there is nothing you can do at the moment. For those wanting to hacktivate, the only advice I can give is to buy the carrier?s SIM (the one its locked to obviously) on ebay. The SIM does not have to be active with the carrier to activate the phone.

New CBC Hockey Night in Canada duo faces criticism

The CBC hopes to expand the national hockey audience with new online programming featuring a pair of best girlfriends gabbing about the hairstyles and uniforms of hockey players during next week?s Stanley Cup Finals.

Lena Sutherland and Jules Mancuso, gal pals living in New York and Toronto, created the website, WhileTheMenWatch.com. The idea for the site was born on an afternoon begrudgingly spent watching a football game with their sports-obsessed husbands. Sutherland and Mancuso decided to talk to each other over the phone and provided colour co-ordinated commentary on what was happening on the gridiron.

?We thought to ourselves, wouldn?t it be great if we could have a way of listening to an audio stream for women?? Sutherland said.

The afternoon chat turned into regular Skype dates to watch and comment on the games.

The CBC will host the duo?s banter on its website with video of Sutherland and Mancuso streaming alongside a feed of the hockey games, calling it WhileTheMenWatch Hockey Night. The broadcaster has also given the pair a blog to co-author.

As the programming news launched, hockey fans expressed their disapproval on social media, lambasting the pair for setting women sports fans back decades and reinforcing gender stereotypes.

Marsha Boyd is an Edmonton Oilers season-ticket holder who blogs about the team she has loved since she was a little girl. She agreed more women seem interested in hockey, but fans like herself have had to prove how much they know and love the game because they?re women.

?They?re saying ?Your man will watch the game and we?re going to give you an alternate commentary because you?re a woman, and you don?t know anything about hockey and you just want to look at pretty boys and you?re stupid,?? Boyd said of the pair.

?It?s horribly sexist and it gives all women, I think, a bad name.?

Julie Bristow, executive director of studio and unscripted programming at CBC, thinks the conversation that happens between Sutherland and Mancuso will draw in the social viewers of hockey who may not be all that interested in faceoffs and penalty shots, but would watch a big game to be able to talk about it around the water cooler the next day, regardless of gender.

?I don?t think it?s sexist in any way,? Bristow said. ?The title may be where those comments are coming from, but I really think the content is meant for anybody that?s a casual viewer of the game.?

Even with former women?s hockey players Hayley Wickenheiser and Cassie Campbell-Pascall saying they don?t find the premise sexist, Boyd isn?t convinced.

?I know they?re trying to draw in non-hockey fans but they?re basically insulting the current hockey fans.? Boyd said. ?We already have a tough time because women aren?t really respected as hockey or even sports fans.?

?I?d like to think that women in 2012 are pretty secure in our position in society than an entertaining show about hockey is not really going to jeopardize that,? Sutherland said.

Sutherland and Mancuso respect female sports journalists and women who truly love watching traditional sports broadcasts.

?We?re just not those women,? Sutherland said.syogaretnam@edmontonjournal.com

Autopsy of a eruption: Linking crystal growth to volcano seismicity

ScienceDaily (May 24, 2012) ? A forensic approach that links changes deep below a volcano to signals at the surface is described by scientists from the University of Bristol in a paper published May 24 in Science. The research could ultimately help to predict future volcanic eruptions with greater accuracy.

Using forensic-style chemical analysis, Dr Kate Saunders and colleagues directly linked seismic observations of the deadly 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption to crystal growth within the magma chamber, the large underground pool of liquid rock beneath the volcano.

Over 500 million people live close to volcanoes which may erupt with little or no clear warning, causing widespread devastation, disruption to aviation and even global effects on climate. Many of the world's volcanoes are monitored for changes such as increases in seismicity or ground deformation. However, an on-going problem for volcanologists is directly linking observations at the surface to processes occurring underground.

Dr Saunders and colleagues studied zoned crystals, which grow concentrically like tree rings within the magma body. Individual zones have subtly different chemical compositions, reflecting the changes in physical conditions within the magma chamber and thus giving an indication of volcanic processes and the timescales over which they occur.

Chemical analysis of the crystals revealed evidence of pulses of magma into a growing chamber within the volcano. Peaks in crystal growth were found to correlate with increased seismicity and gas emissions in the months prior to the eruption.

Dr Saunders said: "Such a correlation between crystal growth and volcanic seismicity has been long anticipated, but to see such clear evidence of this relationship is remarkable."

This forensic approach can be applied to other active volcanoes to shed new light upon the nature and timescale of pre-eruptive activity. This will help scientists to evaluate monitoring signals at restless volcanoes and improve forecasting of future eruptions.

The research was funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

Banning Anonymous Speech: Reality Mimics April Fool's Gag ? New ...

Really, who?d a thunk it? On April 1st I went live with a gag about Joe Lieberman proposing to ban anonymous speech on the Internet. I used a new blog: McIntyre v. Ohio to run it anonymously. Lots of fun was had, and I did a deconstruction of the hoax the day after, but no journalists were actually taken in.

But were real life politicians actually suckered into it? Or did they come up with this idea on his own?

Two bills ?now pending in the New York State Senate and Assembly propose to ban anonymous speech. Yes, this would be in flagrant disregard of prior constitutional case law on the First Amendment. And that primary case is McIntyre v. Ohio for which my ?other blog? is named.

The legislation ? conjured due to concerns over cyber-bullying ? would require anyone with a website:

?upon request remove any comments posted on his or her web site by an anonymous poster unless such anonymous poster agrees to attach his or her name to the post and confirms that his or her IP address, legal name, and home address are accurate.? By ?web site,? the bill means just what it seems to: Any New York-based website, including ?social networks, blogs forums, message boards or any other discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages.?

The bills will go nowhere, of course, because the First Amendment allows anonymous speech. For a good read on the long and deep history of such speech in the United States, read the concurring opinion of Justice Clarence Thomas in McIntyre.

Will the next iPhone have a 'widescreen' aspect ratio?

11 hrs.

The only thing I hate more than realizing I'm out of popcorn is realizing that I'm out of popcorn while a heated debate about an Apple?rumor is occurring. The current topic of discussion? If the next iPhone will have a larger display and?? if so?? whether it will have a new "widescreen"?display resolution.

This time around, things got started when the folks at 9to5 Mac wrote that?they've heard ??via mysterious, unnamed sources ??that the next iPhone will?"sport a new, larger display that is 3.999 inches diagonally."?

While a 4-inch screen is something?many?prior reports have claimed, there's more to this new rumor. According to 9to5 Mac,?Apple will not only increase the size of the display, but also will be "adding pixels."?The new iPhone display resolution would be 640 x 1136 ??which is the same width, but?176 pixels longer than the current iPhone model's display:

The screen will be the same?1.9632?inches wide, but will grow to?3.484?inches tall. This new resolution is very close to a?16:9 screen ratio.

This new screen aspect?ratio, declared many tech writers, can't possibly?happen?? just think of the developers and how much they'd struggle to adjust all the graphics in their apps to account for not only more dots, but a different screen shape. (Generally,?previous rumors presumed that the screen size would expand from 3.5?inches to 4?inches without changing the current 640 x 960?screen resolution, so there would be no software issues.)?

But as usual,?Jim Dalrymple ??who is known for both his beard and his insight on Apple ? becomes the voice of reason when calls attention to?a blog post by Will Hains, who appears well-versed on Apple software?design:

So, how hard it is for developers does not factor in Apple?s decision here. Rather, decisions are based on the resulting product; and then Apple works on making the transition as smooth as possible within that constraint. ?Do I want this to happen?? is a different question to ?Will it happen??

"I don?t agree with everything in this post,"?wrote Dalrymple, but he called Hains' explanation of?the reasons why developers wouldn't be too pained by a screen resolution change?"a good read."

So?while the smart money suggests that the next iPhone will have a larger screen, whether it gets a new aspect ratio (or indeed, why we would care about a longer, skinnier screen) is still a mystery. But at least we know that we're asking the right questions.

Want more tech news, silly puns, or amusing links? You'll get plenty of all three if you keep up with Rosa Golijan, the writer of this post, by following her on?Twitter, subscribing to her?Facebook?posts, or circling her?on?Google+.

news: UK Guide To Home Improvement Loan An Easy Way - Finance

If some one asks me the first thing that I would like to change or improve upon given an opportunity. The answer without second thought would be my home. Why? This is the place where I feel most comfortable and this is where I have enjoyed my best times and to enjoy those again and again I would improve my home.In fact that is the case with almost every person. So if you are one of those people who wants to go for home improvement but cannot because of financial constraints. UK guide to home improvement can provide an ideal platform from where it would be a lot easier to go for home improvement.

The home improvement that you may go for could be minor or major. It purely depends on the requirement of individuals on how they see things at that point of time. The usage for which a home improvement loan may be taken depends on person to person and his needs or just luxuries.

Few reasons why a home improvement loan is taken in UK are:Adding of new rooms like bedroomRenovationSafety repairsRoofing, plumbing and sewer repairsLandscaping Adding luxuries like a swimming pool

The home improvement loan in UK is available with two options to the borrowers. They are:

A secured home improvement loan which can be taken by the borrowers if they can provide a security to the lender. The security may be any of the assets of the borrower his home, car or any piece of land. With these loans we can get a loan of up to 75000 for a long period.

Advantages of a secured home improvement loan in UK are

Low interest rates, hence low monthly payments.People can easily avail big amounts for long time.Easy and fast approval of loans.

A disadvantage of a secured loan is that it can only be availed if the borrower has a security otherwise these loans are not available.

Other way of getting a loan is through unsecured loans these loans do not require any collateral to be provided. So these loans are available to almost every body from tenants to home owners. With these type of loans we can loans starting from 500 to 25000.

Advantages of unsecured loans areEverybody can take these loans as no collateral is required to be provided to the lenders. Therefore no risk is attached to the borrower.

Disadvantages of taking unsecured loans are

High interest ratesHigh monthly installmentsSmall loan amounts are approved

Home improvement loans in UK are now available to every body even to people who have bad credit history. It includes people like CCJ's, arrears, defaults, or late payments.Bad credit history is determined on the basis of a credit score which is given to every borrower in UK who have previously taken loans. A score of below 600 is the one which brings in the reputation of bad credit.Considering the importance of homes and their improvements these loans are made available to people with bad credit history as well.

Home improvement loan not only serve the purpose the also provide many benefits to the borrowers as well.Home improvement appreciates the value of the house which helps the borrower in many ways. For people with bad credit history it is a chance of improving their credit reputation. While in the process of taking home improvement loans you can get suitable advice on other different topics.

"Home sweet home" that is how the phrase is and that is certainly true for most of the people. A healthy home environment can lead to a healthy work and other things. So a home should be perfect in our eyes. As perfection begins from home and then filters through to different aspects so if you feel that home improvement is needed than you should go for it.

New York City Wine & Food Fest Announces 2012 Details -- Grub ...

This year's NYC Wine & Food Festival, sponsored by Food Network and presented by Food & Wine (so many sponsors!), won't happen until October, and tickets won't go on sale until June 25, but organizers are already getting a jump and announcing details. It will be the fifth year for the fest's New York iteration, and the whole thing kicks off with a party on October 12. Other highlights: the return of Giada De Laurentiis's Meatball Madness; Rachael Ray's Burger Bash; a "dinner to end all dinners" featuring Nathan Mhyrvold, Mads Refslund, and Alex Stupak; and a roast of Anthony Bourdain, hosted by Mario Batali. We guess roasts are the big new thing these days. You can head over to the festival's official site for a full lineup, and check out the complete release below.

CHEERS TO FIVE YEARS!

Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival

Presented by FOOD & WINE Celebrates its 5th Anniversary October 11 - 14, 2012!

- Over $5 Million Raised for Food Bank For New York City and Share Our Strength?-

(New York, NY - May 2012) - Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE founder and director, Lee Brian Schrager, who also serves as the vice president of corporate communications and national events at Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., is pleased to unveil the new fifth anniversary program of events. Taking place October 11 - 14, 2012, 100% of the proceeds benefit the Food Bank For New York City and Share Our Strength?s No Kid Hungry campaign. To date, the Festival has raised over $5 million to help fight hunger.

"We are thrilled to celebrate our 5th year in partnership with the festival and to create a bigger-and more delicious- program of events for Food Network fans to eat, drink and contribute to ending hunger," said Brooke Johnson, President Food Network and Cooking Channel.

?This year?s program is truly a celebration of what the Festival is all about,? said Schrager. ?Returning favorite events get a make-over, we move to new venues throughout the city and have come up with a whole series of fresh events to satisfy any palate, each perfectly paired with the finest wines and spirits in the Southern Wine & Spirits of New York portfolio.?

The official fifth anniversary party, a twist on the signature dessert party that helped launch the Festival, will be as SWEET as ever, presented by Godiva Chocolatier and hosted by Sandra Lee with Special Guests. Taking place on Friday, October 12, at 82 Mercer in SoHo, the event will be an unparalleled celebration featuring the latest trends in artisanal ice cream, luscious gourmet cakes and cupcakes. Also returning to 82 Mercer are S. Pellegrino?s Meatball Madness hosted by Giada De Laurentiis on Thursday, October 11 and Tacos & Tequila presented by Creekstone Farms hosted by Bobby Flay on Saturday, October 13.

For this special year, the Festival is also pleased to debut two events that are certain to be part of the weekend?s highlights. Kicking off the weekend, Bank of America presents ?On The Chopping Block: A Roast of Anthony Bourdain? with Carolines on Broadway hosted by Mario Batali at Pier 60 on Thursday, October 11. Everyone knows that Bourdain can dish it out, but here dinner guests will enjoy dishes from New York City?s famed chef Michael White and his culinary empire to find out if Bourdain can take the heat too! On the same evening, just up the street at Yotel, renowned chefs will showcase their twist on classic fried chicken at Shake & Bake hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Art Smith and guest DJ Questlove; who will have hopefully recovered from his recent battle on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

On Friday, October 12 the Festival moves some of its most popular events into Manhattan?s Basketball City (Pier 36), starting with the iconic Blue Moon Burger Bash presented by Pat LaFrieda Meats hosted by Rachael Ray. The Festival invites foodies of all ages into the venue on Saturday, October 13 for Target?s Fun and Fit in the City hosted by Guy Fieri for a day complete with food, fitness, and learning for the whole family. Lastly, the Festival?s tradition of curating the best food trucks and carts in New York City closes out the weekend?s streak at Basketball City with The New York Times and Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. presents Trucks by the River hosted by Andrew Zimmern.

Two of Food Network's hottest shows come to life during the Festival, starting with Chopped on Thursday, October 11 at Marc Murphy's landmarc at Time Warner Center. Regular series judge Murphy, along with host Ted Allen and fellow judges including Scott Conant, Alex Guarnaschelli, Geoffrey Zakarian and more, are tasked with preparing the evening's tastings. On Saturday, October 13, iconic Kitchen Stadium moves to the Highline Stages for a late-night sampling showdown at Food Network's Next Iron Chef hosted by Alton Brown, where the reigning Iron Chef's and Next Iron Chef hopefuls turn up for this epic event kicking-off the newest season of the network series.

Once again Pier 57 in Hudson River Park will be home to the Grand Tasting presented by ShopRite featuring KitchenAid Culinary Demonstrations on Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14, featuring fare from New York City?s best restaurants, flowing wines and spirits from the Southern Wine & Spirits of New York portfolio, with star-studded culinary demonstrations from Anne Burrell, Paula Deen, The Deen Boys, Robert Irvine, Michael Symon, Adam Richman, a tent talk with Ina Garten, and more!

Also back to delight the taste buds will be the Festival?s signature Cooking Channel?s Meatpacking Uncorked and entire series of Local events and Master Classes; Wine and Pairing seminars hosted by FOOD & WINE; Times Talks with Bobby Flay & Giada De Laurentiis, Paula Deen & Boys, and Nathan Myhrvold; Thrillist?s BBQ & The Blues hosted by Rocco DiSpirito; and Rock & Roll with Morimoto.
Festival guests will also have access to the 51st floor of the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park for the three-night Bank of America Dinner Series featuring Roy Choi with Jean-Georges and Marja Vongerichten Korean BBQ Dinner, Alain Ducasse?s Benoit Dinner and a global dinner with chef?s Joey Campanaro, Floyd Cardoz, Dan Kluger, and Karen De Masco.

Additional wine dinners in the Festival Dinner Series pay tribute to not only the Festival?s fifth year but also the finest chefs in the industry. The line-up includes:

Helpful Social Media Marketing Advice For Businesses ...

Search Blog Database

Category: Social Media Marketing | Added on: Sunday, May 20th, 2012 | Total: 288 Views

Facebook places can be useful as they allow your followers to use their mobile phones to check in with your page updates. Offer your customers a discount or freebie for mentioning your social media profile to the cashier. You can do the same thing through Foursquare, and reap the same benefits.

Look at what time of the day it is you?re receiving the most responses and re-tweets from your Twitter account. Take advantage of this knowledge, and try to post more frequently during these times. If your message service is automated, you can have your account sent tweets when your followers are usually logged onto their twitter accounts.

Studies have shown that people read more posts during business hours than at any other time during the week. Use tools for automatically updating your blogs around this time each day and make the posts have a focus on certain activities or ideas that will appeal to the working audience.

Think about having contests or sweepstakes on Facebook. People enjoy getting free things and you should take advantage of that simple fact. You can tap into this feeling and generate more interest in your business and its products by putting on contests of your own. A contest can also be a great way to talk up your latest product, getting consumers interested in making purchases.

It is a good idea to use Twitter in the promotion of your business. Using Twitter effectively will create more buzz for your business. Learn about hashtags, keywords, and other aspects of Twitter.

You want to be sure to put a Facebook ?Like? box on your blog, so they do not have to leave your site to do this. By including a ?like? button on your blog, your readers will be able to easily promote your business to their friends and family. What?s more, blogs with convenient features like this tend to get more readers, so long as they aren?t overdone.

You might have noticed that many Facebook ads contain attention-getting images, which are often created by editing photographs. This makes a lot of sense, as a visitor is more likely to wonder what is up with the ad and click it. When someone is drawn to one of your ads they tend to check out your business and from there they may be interested with what you have to offer.

If you post on forums to promote your social media presence, focus on getting along with the forum population. Every poster in the forum is a potential customer for your service or product, and your comments should focus on relevant, truthful information instead of hard-selling. Establish good relationships, and continue to build trust through comments that are friendly and helpful.

It?s important to blog readers that they have the ability to leave comments. It is particularly necessary if this is the only way that the public can communicate with you. Monitor blog comments so that customers don?t get away with posting inappropriate items. Screen and delete comments that are offensive or might be spam.

Hosting contests with good prizes has proven to be a good strategy on Facebook and other social media sites, to help generate more publicity for your company. Due to the way online social networks operate, information about your contest will rapidly spread. Make your contest creative, fun, and relative to your services and products. Perhaps you could have contestants come up with a logo for your next item.

It is important to professionally address criticism and product feedback you receive through social media channels. This can make your or break you in social media marketing. You must also respond to any negative comments you receive online. If you ignore these types of postings, it can leave a bad impression on other site visitors. Conversely, if you deal with the issue raised in a professional manner, your customers might actually trust you more.

A great way to give your business a boost is by using social media marketing techniques. Use these tips to become more comfortable with using social media. The success you gain from your marketing campaign will help to motivate you to expand your campaign to other social media outlets. Social media is a fantastic way to reach a broad range of consumers, while giving your business the boost that it needs to thrive.
